I dont have a lot of money so working on a budget is very important to me!
My costume was made mainly by borrowing and altering things i already had, my costume was a zombie builder, mainly due to the fact my partner used to be a land surveyor so had a few things handy! I got an old hi-vis jacket and a toolbelt from him which i covered in fake blood, this was my favourite bit as i got to get messy! The fake blood was make using slightly watered down syrup,coffee and food dye. I bought a cheap white vest top and i cut up some old jeans that no longer fitted me!
I work at great ormond street hospital and loads of bandages were thrown away to make way for newer better designed ones so i took some home a few months ago wondering if they would come in handy-and they did!
The skin effect was done using pva glue,just painted it on my skin then peeled little bits off (like when i was at school-loved doing that!) And the rest is general make up i had. The only thing that cost me a bit of money was the contact lenses at £15 but this is now the 3rd year ive worn them so i am getting my moneys worth,because i only wear them for a day id say ive got plenty of years left in them still! So as a rough total cost id say:
